Observation

Take enough time at junctions and repeat checks if circumstances change.

Speed choice

Make safe progress without rushing. Adjust speed early for bends, hazards and changing limits.

Adequate clearance and meeting traffic

Leave enough clearance from parked vehicles and plan ahead when meeting oncoming traffic, giving way where needed without creating unnecessary stand-offs.

Road and lane positioning

Use bus lanes when they are not in operation. Identify the correct lane when approaching junctions and follow the lane and road markings as you move through junctions and around roundabouts.
